Smoothie jar recipe

When someone on the last retreat asked me again if we also sell a vegan cookbook with all Bo’s recipes in it, I decided it was time to write a blog about our famous smoothie jars. Both Bo and me are into healthy food and clean eating. We spend lots of time on finding and trying out new recipes that are both incredibly delicious and as nourishing as possible. Basically everything we make contains organic products and we avoid most processed foods. We never use sugar, wheat, dairy and to be honest we also do not spend too much time in the kitchen. Because we have something that makes life a lot easier when it comes to healthy eating……an amazing high speed blender.

We have a juicy retreats blender, which is so powerful it could almost blend solid rocks into a creamy paste if you ask me. For our smoothie jars we use frozen fruits. You can buy fresh fruits, chop ‘m up and store in the freezer until you need them. The quantities are not super important and you really just have to try it out for yourself. If you want your smoothie to taste more sweet, add more dates and banana…..if you want it to taste more tropical, add more mango and orange etc. The most important thing here is not to add too much liquid, otherwise it becomes more like a drink instead of the creamy ice-cream like consistency.

Serve straight after making them…otherwise they kind of melt and become more watery as well.  Decorate them with anything you like (nuts, seeds, coconutflakes, chocolate shavings, dried fruits, cinnamon, slices of fruit on the sides)
